Good friendly staff and good food.

It is worth taking a look at the inside of the hotel. It is almost impossible to have more history in one place. The rooms are very modern and very spacious. I can highly recommend the hotel.

The food here was quite good, but I didn't find the "special sauce" on the "XL Burger" so good. In addition, the salad with the seeds wasn't quite to my taste. However, the apple strudel was very good and the ice cream was tasty too.

Sofia was an Excellent hostess! This owner/operator of her family business for over 350 years was simply sweet and accommodating! She proudly cares for the heritage of her family in the furnishing and comfort of the extremely spacious apartments and well decorated restaurant. As well, she is friendly, warm and inviting. Sofia cares for her guests in an extra special way! I felt like we were old friends. The breakfast was more that I could eat and the hot chocolate for my drive into work was a delight! Due to the time of my stay I was only able to enjoy one delicious dinner. This was sad for me because it was AMAZING! The homemade French onion soup; the salad with a very tasty home made, marinade dressing (a family secret recipe!); the salmon and potato rosies...!! YUMMY! While I was full I was not stuffed. This allowed room for my vanilla ice cream with hot fudge! Needless to say I am a fan of Gasthof Peters! I plan to visit again.

Very nice!! I had the Schnitzel XL and must say it was very delicious. My companion also praised the delicious food! The staff took great care of us, was friendly and attentive. The ambience is very pleasant you have the feeling a bit in Uromas old yard to dine which has its charm. Parking is available in the area enough. Wheelchair users have as far as I do not remember a ramp.

Have spent a weekend here. In the "penthouse" slept great. Good food in the restaurant. There was nothing to complain about. Who comes to this region: Recommended! Thank you (also for the little help shortly before departure) to the landlady!

Very clean and with a lot of love run hotel. The breakfast was on our individual requests and the dinner was a treat. The hostess gave us tips to explore the area and was very accommodating. We can recommend the stay here mur.

The restaurant is open, the house has been run for 15 generations in a family business and yet you have trouble finding a dust grain here. In the evening it is very quiet in the extremely spacious room. The hostess is very professional in terms of hospitality.

Clean hotel with spacious rooms in a small village. During the day it is a quiet village. I noticed that there was a lot of traffic passing by at night with a lot of noise. Breakfast was ready on the table in the restaurant downstairs at the agreed time in the morning. Not luxury, but sufficient. However, when you are away for a few days, you want to be pampered and I think it is a shame when I recognize products from a budget supermarket for breakfast. The owner tries to please everyone and asks (too) often whether everything is as desired. She also willingly and unintentionally gave tips about the area and restaurants. It seemed very compelling. Four stars, because the rooms were very nice and clean. It could have been five stars if breakfast had been more luxurious and the owner a bit more relaxed. We had booked a three-room apartment through Booking, one of which was eventually closed. We didn't necessarily need the room, but it's not that neat if this is adjusted after the reservation. We also had a great stay.

We spent four nights here with hikers. Mrs. Peters welcomed us with more than open arms. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated. There was nothing missing. The breakfast with fresh, delicious, hot coffee is also very good. The menu leaves nothing to be desired. Everything was delicious and appetizing. We like to give 5 stars.

Large, very clean room with air conditioning and a large bathroom. The very nice hotel manager fulfills all possible wishes and gives tips on sights. Zipfelpass holders can get their stamp directly at the hotel. Breakfast is not a buffet, but it is plentiful and here, too, the wishes of the guests are gladly catered for. Bus stop to Geilenkirchen around the corner. A place where one would like to come back.

I have been going here for years, and I particularly love the pepper cream Schnitzels and / or the kaiser karl soup. There is a nice cozy authentic atmosphere. And in particular the manager and chef Sofia takes care of this. 5 stars for this family restaurant.

The food is so good! Amazing soup, schnitzel, chicken, steaks, salads, etc. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Speak very good English. Kid friendly.

Completely rude! My family and I, along with good friends, have come here to eat many times. We have brought new guests who have come to visit us, new military friends who just got here and we’ve recommended this place to so many people. I was placing an order on the phone and had a question about one of their meals. The lady that was helping me said, “ma’am, I am in a hurry. Please place your order” with an annoyance in her voice. I’m sorry, I was not rude but just inquiring about your food, that attitude was not needed. I will have to stop recommending this place and we will not be coming back.

Stayed for the first time in Hõngen. Very warmly received by hostess Sofia who is descended from the family that founded the company in 1650. The interior is in a rustic German style and you can see everything on the walls: old tools, certificates and photos. The double room 'Residenz' is actually an apartment. The 3-course menu tasted excellent and that can also be said of the breakfast. In short, a great stay for a great price.

Family's favorite restaurant for local German food. The various sauces for the main dishes are truly rich and flavorful. The history and pride of the establishment are well worth the visit.

Restaurant earned 5 stars, have never stayed at the hotel. My wife and I ordered Argentinian steaks, medium and med/rare; cooked to perfection. We will return!

Although the owners are nice and friendly I can't recommend the place, neither as hotel or as restaurant. The room I got was OK, but without bath or toilet, so for a country site hotel in Germany the prices are too high (€65 for a single room). You can't get in to the hotel after closing hour and there is not even a glass available in the room for getting some Water. But what really made me make this rewiev was when they charged me almost the same for a glass of plain Water (€2.20) as they did for the same amount of beer (€2.30), although I had been dining with a couple of beers. Where I come from you don't charge for plain Water, when normal beverages are also ordered.
